Studio · Profile

Material clarity, quiet form.

Founded by Savvas Sarafidis and Melpi Maglivera, ss.mm design is a dual-rooted architecture and spatial practice operating across New York and Athens. We bridge vernacular Mediterranean sensitivity with nuanced metropolitan rigor.

01 / Methodology

A continuum between landscape and interior.

Principle 01

Site-Specific Reduction

We pare back superfluous gestures to allow natural topography, solar movement, and local textures to dictate the structural envelope.

Principle 02

Tactile Permanence

Employing monolithic stone, untreated limewash, warm oak, and oxidized metals that age with dignity rather than degrade over decades.

Principle 03

Cohesive Interiors

Architecture and interior decoration are not distinct steps. Built-in furniture, spatial sequencing, and daylight belong to one continuous drawing.

Principle 04

Cross-Geographic Dialogue

Synthesizing New York’s precise programmatic efficiency with the organic pacing and mineral silence of the Mediterranean.

02 / Leadership

Partners & Direction

Direct partner oversight on every project from initial schematic to turnkey completion.

03 / Recognition & Exhibitions
